Community Outreach

Like many greek organizations, the Ursinian Chapter of the Alpha Delta Phi Society takes part in the community by reaching out to many different organizations. Two organizations that we donate both our time and money to are The MS Society and Pillars of Light and Love, which can be found right next door to us in the town of Trappe. We hold both of these organizations very close to our heart and hope to continue are relationships with them indefinitely.

Service - Pillars of Light and Love

Pillars of Light and Love is a non-profit organization that was started in 2015. The main focus of the organization is stress and life management for all ages; the goal is to educate children, teens, and adults to reduce stress, have strong self-esteem, overcome anxiety and depression, build confidence, and achieve better coping techniques and healthy relationships. The center offers various workshops such as massage, life coaching, yoga, and other anxiety and stress relief services. The Ursinian affiliate volunteers at various events to help support and raise awareness about the increasingly important issues of teen bullying, self-esteem issues, depression and anxiety, etc. We hope to contribute the objectives of the society through these service events.

Philanthropy - The MS Society

With the universal mission of “A World Free of MS”, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society seeks to promote the world-wide research effort to cure MS, connect individuals and families impacted by the disease, and provide resources to those in need. With multiple, personal connections to those impacted by MS, the Ursinian affiliate hopes to contribute to the objectives of the society through philanthropic events, such as campus fundraising (i.e. Blind Date with a Book) and attendance to the annual Elmwood MS Society Walk.

Blind Date with a Book

We hold "Blind Date with a Book" once a year as a philanthropy event. This event involves the purchase of an unknown book to discover a new story and world. All profits are donated to the MS Society.
